Gouache Study and Borders Sketches!

I've been wanting to mess around with gouache for a while now. I really love watercolor and I really love oil. I've seen some illustrators use gouache in a way that looks very much like oil painting, and others that feel more like water color . . . so this morning I did a little practice just to get the feel for it. So far I like it, I want to do something more intricate with it and see how that goes. I also stopped into a Borders bookstore for a bit today and did a couple more really quick sketches. The man in the long hair caught on that I was sketching him, he looked frustrated, packed up his stuff and left.

Haha a lot of people catch me sketching them too... the gouache study is pretty cool... hard stuff to use in my opinion... I don't know how artists like Alex Ross use that medium... awesome sketches though!

I got pinged sketching a lady at the library once. Very embarrassing, especially when she demanded to see the sketch.

That eye is impressive Jason, very nice. I never told you how I like that Rose hill guy as well, those fantastic Seiler shapes. I look like that when I play Rock band.
Try sunglasses for the crowd sketching.
Do you have the new version of blogger yet? I tried to link to your full Thom York post but couldn't. I resisted switching until a couple weeks ago but has some nice things(like being able to link to individual posts)

That's a great eye!! Not too fond of gouache, but you've certainly got to grips with it!

Dear Jason, I visited your blog on numerous occasions, but today when I decided to write.
You are an exceptional artist, and I love your work, I get to be able to handle the photoshop so realistic as what you do, and to paint the same way, with acrylics watercolors etc. ...
Congratulations already have a more fan on your list.
Greetings from my blog!

Was that the Broadway Border's? Perhaps I just missed you... looks like the in-store Seattle coffee place. Excellent studies Jason!
